Objectives

Bridging the gap between the stakeholder and issue of intangible property, intangible cultural heritage and intellectual property rights over their identity, respect, creation and ownership.

Introduction

CIPN is founded in response to an increasing need felt by authors, artisans, performers, scientists, technologists, business personalities, companies and lawyers as well as other civil societies in order to gain a profound knowledge and create an appropriate endeavor in the field of intangible property, intangible cultural heritage and intellectual property. It has been established with the aim of fulfilling the gap of necessity of such an institution, which is competent to function in multiple dimensions of intangible property, intangible cultural heritage and intellectual property rights. CIPN is the first firm of its kind in Nepal. It organizes manifold activities on an interdisciplinary level for the sake of concretizing its object and goal. Fundamental activities of CIPN are research and study, training and advocacy and awareness program in the field of intangible property, intangible cultural heritage and intellectual property rights and service to the individual or institution and other firms within the territory and also the extra territory. CIPN and its human resource expertise has contributed in drafting Copyright Bill to the Nepal Copyright Registrar’s Office and drafting National Intellectual Property Policy in 2017 for Ministry of Industry.

Major Activities

Conducting manifolds of activities in interdisciplinary ways for the sake of concretizing its fundamental activities that entails Research, Training, Advocacy, Documentation and Legal Affairs and other services.
