Cultural Center Rukh Ordo is Kyrgyz complex of museums focused on mutual cultural enrichment. The works of art presented here from ancient times up to the present are the result of deep philosophical thoughts that reveal the age-old basic values of the national consciousness as magnificent examples of original culture and unique historical monuments.
This is a unique open-air museum on the coast of the Issyk-Kul Lake that includes five chapels dedicated to the world’s religious denominations; the House-Museum of Ch. Aytmatov, a notable Kyrgyz writer; “Ala-Too” Concert Hall; a Kyrgyz ayil (Kyrgyz village, during the summer); the Hall of Kyrgyz Art and Culture; Sayakbay Karalayev’s Arch; and picture and photo galleries. Images of famous scholars and writers, politicians and poets, and people of spirit and saints were also frozen in time as sculptures on the territory of the park. They are not signed by the authors. Some of them are recognizable immediately, while the others are presented as a form that opens for each guest in its own way.
Everyone who enters Cultural Center Rukh Ordo feels a part of the universe regardless of religion or nationality and can fully enjoy its peace and tranquility, allowing thoughts to plunge into deep philosophical reflections and making one think about the meaning of life
One of the center’s notable programs is its excursion activities. The complex works all year round and accepts guests for a 1.5-2 hour excursion (according to the summer and winter schedule) that wanders through the pages of the Kyrgyz people and Kyrgyzstan’s centuries-old history. During the excursions, tourists can take part in traditional national games, have the opportunity to play one of the national instruments, sing a Kyrgyz song (“Yer Kese”), learn how to dance the “Kara Zhorgo” dance, and make something from clay as a memory on the pottery machine.
